Habost is on the main A859, 20 miles from Stornoway and 25 miles from Tarbert.  When driving south from Stornoway, travel 15 miles to Balallan and turn left at the junction which is signposted ‘Pairc’.  Borishader Cottage is a further 5 miles along this road.

When driving north from Tarbert, travel about 19 miles to Balallan and take the first turning on your right (B8060) just after you enter Balallan.  Travel along this road for 5 miles, Habost is the first village of significant size and Borishader Cottage is the first house on your right as you enter the village (Tabost in Gaelic).
